Dry Waste Segregation Plant

GIM Hotspot > Sustainable Spots > Dry Waste Segregation Plant

Dry waste segregation involves sorting and separating non-biodegradable waste materials from household or industrial waste. Segregating dry waste helps in diverting recyclable materials away from landfills or incineration, reducing the burden on the environment and conserving resources.

The 151 sq.m. Dry Waste Segregation Plant at GIM ensures efficient waste sorting and storage. It segregates waste before responsibly transferring it to Goa Waste Management Corporation for safe disposal. Annually an average of 30000 Kilograms of waste is generated.

It aligns with SDG Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, and Goal 13: Climate Action.
