The Red-whiskered Bulbul is native to a wide geographic range, including South Asia, Southeast Asia, and parts of the Middle East. This bulbul species is characterised by its distinctive appearance. It has a brownish-olive upper body, a red patch behind the eye with elongated “whiskers,” a white throat, and a red vent. The tail is long and has a unique fan-like appearance. They have an omnivorous diet.
These bulbuls are known for their active and social behavior. They are excellent singers and have a varied repertoire of melodious calls. Their vocalizations include whistles, chirps, and trills, and they are often heard singing in the early morning.
