This large-sized frog, also known as the Tiger frog, is an aquatic species. Adult male can reach lengths of up to 17 cm (6.7 inches) or more, while female is generally larger than the male. It has a robust and muscular body with a characteristic bright green or olive-green coloration which can have irregular dark markings or spots. The male frogs turn yellow during the breeding season. This nocturnal frog has unwebbed hands and fully webbed feet. It is a voracious predator and feeds on a varied diet of insects, spiders, small fish, and even other frogs. The Indian Bull Frog is primarily native to the Indian sub-continent. It has been introduced to the Andaman islands where it has now become an invasive species. The combination of its invasive impact and utilization as a food source has led to efforts for its extermination in this region.
