Amboli Bush Frog is a rare species which is endemic to the Western Ghats. It was originally discovered in the Amboli area in Maharashtra, hence the name. It is a small frog with vocal sacks that are used for calling. Males used their large and transparent vocal sacks to communicate during the breeding season. It has blackish brown coloration, which serves as camouflage in the dense vegetation of its habitat. The skin is granular, and it has large eyes. It is primarily nocturnal and hunts for small invertebrates and insects.

It is listed on the IUCN Red List due to extensive conversion of its habitat to farmland and estates.
